Did a show tonight at Largo with Sarah Silverman, Doug Benson, and my writing partner, Howard Kremer, among others. A fun night, but somehow it's more memorable that as I was driving home, Genesis' "Abacab" came on Jack FM. I've always liked that song for some reason. It's the unmistakable groove of it, for after hearing it hundreds of times, I have no gawddamn idea what the words refer to, or the meaning behind the jam.
Largo is really close to my house, so it only took the length of the song to get to my garage. Then I realized it was segueing into the album version of the song. Oh, yeah! That's the best part of the whole damn affair, when Tony Banks goes off into keyboard-noodle land for the last four minutes, and the lyrics never return.
I sat in my car and bobbed my head to the beat until the musical journey ended.
It's the little things that make life big.

Phil Collins was on in the dentist's office today and I thought of you.
I don't know if that's flattering or an insult.
