News That's Not In The "News" Section But Should Be?s
It's hard to maintain a blog on a website. Seems like all my 'funny' thoughts or other thoughts go right to Facebook or Twitter. Here's some news, though:
The Goode Family, an animated show I was working on with my writing partner Howard Kremer aired this past summer. It got axed by ABC. Most summer shows don't catch on. We found this out the hard way. Fortunately, the show got picked up by Comedy Central. They will re-run the first 13 episodes in January. If that goes well, we will get to make more. We already have 9 scripts ready to go.
Howard and I sold a pilot to a company I dunno if I should name, and we are working on it with our old bosses from Goode Family. They are awesome. They ran King Of The Hill for many years and were writers on "Blades Of Glory," the hilarious ice skating movie. I think they came up with the "Iron Lotus," which will go down in comedy movie history.
I've been appearing lately on TruTV's "Smoking Gun Presents World's Dumbest." It's one of those talking heads shows. I was on 5 episodes. Maybe I'll get to do more.
Still doing stand up around the Los Angeles area. Had a great show the other night at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
R.O. Manse has a Christmas song as part of the Comedy Death Ray X-Mas CD coming out in December. Howard and I were also photographed for the Comedy Death Ray 2010 calendar. This cements our status as a long running, underpaid comedy team.
Every Thursday, you can find me watching "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" in my room.
I think my friend April is the only one who visits my site. If so, she already knows this stuff. Anyone else, thanks for visiting!

Wow - sorry to be your only fan to leave comments, but I love LOVE! R.O. Manse. Funny, touching, real and just a wee-bit sassy.
Cannot wait for more R.O.!

Are there any plans for web videos or a web series? If some dude can sell CBS a TV show based on his Twitter account, I have come to the conclusion that anything is possible. Like Keanu Reeves winning an Academy Award.
I just have to get off my ass about it. My goal with the character is to do an Adult Swim type show.
Cool - You don't want to be a mannish welder, all your life!
I see R.O.T.V. - guests, videos, comedic asides - kinda like "Al TV" or Mike Douglas - all with an 80s look and feel.

I love that. I was also thinking he's a private detective for other 80's stars. It would be funny to try and trail people and be 'incognito' in a series of ridiculous outfits.
That is awesome. He could solve something like "The Mystery of the Missing Cardboard" - and assist Ozone or the girl from "Breakin". Or maybe who stole her legwarmers.
I am trying to doing something similar on the web - Bixler and Sparks - Rock N Roll Detectives.

..Enjoying my Comedy Death Ray CD, and new R.O track - feels like 2 Live Crew and I've been timewarped back to 1989! Awesome!
So, a funny R.O. Manse story I thought I might share.
I'm an opera student and during Christmas break I've been making some easy cash recording practice cds for local high schools. I was recording some Footloose when my brother ran down to tell me that when I sing stuff other than opera I "sound just like R.O. Manse." I chose to take that as a compliment.

Caroline - that's hilarious.
When I have my IPOD on shuffle, and R.O's theme song for "Flashdance" comes on - my Wife laughs like she has never heard before, and thinks its hysterically funny and clever.
Like her mind's been wiped and its the first time she's heard the joke.....
